Validation Services
APL offers services to assist laboratories to validate existing or new capability, which is essential for laboratories in maintaining ISO/IEC 17025 accredtation. Our services including formal multi-laboratory comparisons of tailored services.
All proficiency testing is performed following ISO/IEC 17043 – Conformity Assessment.
Comparison Instruments
We maintain a library of stable, well-characterised test instruments for use as comparison artefacts—so in most cases, you won’t need to source a “best available” device to demonstrate your lowest achievable uncertainties.
Trusted Comparison, Trusted Reference Values
Performing ad-hoc comparisons with peer laboratories can be a useful activity, however, there is significant risk of poor comparison with false negative or positive agreement unless the reference values can be absolutely trusted. APL’s industry-leading accredited uncertainties allow us to serve as the trusted reference laboratory for most proficiency testing comparisons. In select cases, we may engage the National Measurement Institute of Australia (NMIA) or other leading international accredited laboratories to provide reference values.
